Title: Director of Product - Payments & Financial Infrastructure

Summary
This leadership role oversees the product strategy for a complex payments and financial systems domain within a SaaS environment. The position focuses on enabling efficient, reliable patient payment collection and distribution processes at large scale, including recurring payment plans and multi-party transaction flows. Reporting to a senior product executive, this leader will define strategy, improve user experience in collections, and optimize the infrastructure supporting payment operations. The role requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution, along with ownership of multiple product platforms and collaboration across finance, operations, and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the product vision, roadmap, and measurable outcomes for payments and financial systems, including collections performance, margin optimization, and operational efficiency
- Oversee end-to-end product ownership for patient collections, billing workflows, payment processing infrastructure, and partner integrations
- Manage and mentor a team of product managers, setting clear expectations and fostering a high-performance culture
- Drive best practices in product development, including deep discovery, prioritization, delivery, and post-launch measurement
- Act as a hands-on contributor on high-impact initiatives, shaping requirements and guiding execution
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Customer Success teams
- Manage relationships with payment processors, financial partners, and third-party vendors
- Improve platform coherence across multiple systems with varying technical architectures
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI and data-driven insights to enhance payment outcomes and system efficiency
- Represent the payments domain to executive leadership and external partners
Skills
- 7+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years leading teams and owning a full product domain
- Proven track record delivering measurable business impact in a SaaS environment at scale
- Strong expertise in payment systems, including processing workflows, reconciliation, chargebacks, vendor management, and cost optimization
- Experience improving collections performance, reducing payment failures, and designing effective recurring billing experiences
- Ability to work deeply on complex problems while maintaining a strategic perspective
- Demonstrated success developing and coaching product managers
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and external partners
- Familiarity with payment facilitator models, third-party processors, and financial integrations
- Comfort working in complex, multi-system environments with high transaction volume
- Practical understanding of AI applications and their potential to improve operational and product outcomes
